PRF Hair Restoration

PRF, Platelet-Rich Fibrin, is a concentrate of patient’s own cells, used as an alternative to synthetic solutions.  Here at Derm Clinic MD, we offer three different types of PRF Treatments:

  1. Injectable PRF treatments: facial rejuvenation, neck rejuvenation, etc
  2. PRF integration with MicroNeedling – vampire facial
  3. PRF for hair stimulation/growth

Hair Stimulation Therapy – PRF – Platelet-Rich Fibrin

Men and women can suffer from hair loss which is completely normal and part of the aging process. Numerous other factors can influence the rate that hair loss occurs: genetic predispositions, alopecia areata, and severe stress. Hair restoration with PRF is a virtually painless, cutting-edge procedure that is used for patients who do not want surgery.

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin (PRF) hair restoration is a new, non-surgical treatment that uses wound healing technology to restore inactive hair follicles by cell growth factors. These specific growth factors are vital in tissue regeneration and healing.

PRF is obtained by drawing the patient’s own blood and serum is separated from blood by a centrifuge. The patient’s scalp will be numbed with a topical anesthetic cream to make the treatment less painful. The serum is isolated and strategically injected into the scalp where hair loss or thinning has occurred. Immediately after the procedure, the patient can immediately go back to normal daily activities.

The hair follicles rejuvenated with PRF will begin to grow new hair. The hair will strengthen and become thicker. Results can be seen within three to six months because hair growth is a slower process.

The process is not recommended for everybody, and your doctor will determine whether it may be right for you.  Results may vary among patients based on the body’s natural response to PRP, which will not be the same for all patients and cannot be predicted. Dr. Payman will create the optimal treatment plan and review your goals and expectations with you prior to the procedure.  The procedure in Atlanta, GA involves no downtime, and takes approximately 30 minutes.

How many PRF treatments do I need?
