Editorial policy
Medical statements on this site link to primary sources such as FDA labels and peer-reviewed studies, are checked against those sources by a second person before publication, and carry a 'Medically reviewed' label only after Dr. Payman has reviewed the page.
What we publish
Derm Clinic MD publishes treatment pages, Journal guides, aftercare instructions and a patient questions page. They are general education so you can prepare for a consultation. They are not medical advice and they do not replace an examination.
Where the medical facts come from
Medical statements link to primary sources: FDA labels and safety communications, FDA device and drug databases, peer-reviewed studies on PubMed, and professional societies such as the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. We check the date of each label and use the current one. Every page lists its sources at the bottom. We do not cite other clinics' websites, and we do not copy other sites.
How a page is checked
Each page is written from its sources, then checked line by line against those sources by a second person before it is published. Risks are stated even when they are uncommon, off-label uses are called off-label, and we do not promise results. When a source does not support a statement, the statement is removed.
Physician review
A page says "Medically reviewed by Arshia Payman, MD" with the date only after Dr. Payman has reviewed that page. If a page does not say it, she has not yet reviewed it.
Facts about the practice
Hours, addresses, prices, membership terms and policies come from the office and are updated when they change. Prices can vary by plan and are confirmed by the office before treatment.
Reviews, photos and illustrations
- Patient reviews are quoted word for word from public Google reviews, with an ellipsis where a sentence is cut, and each links back to Google.
- Before and after photos are Dr. Payman's own patients, shown with written consent. They show individual results, not typical or guaranteed ones.
- Illustrations in the Journal are generated images that show a topic. They are not patients and not results.
Corrections
If you see something that is wrong or out of date, call Atlanta (Buckhead) at 404-937-3760 or Cumming at 404-937-3447 and ask for it to be corrected. We fix errors of fact promptly and update the date at the bottom of the page.
